Russell Pascoe and Greg Gascoigne formed CSS Builders in 1997. They felt there was a need in the marketplace for a quality builder who would cater for the needs of both commercial and domestic construction projects. Drawing from their combined previous work experience, they build a formidable construction team. Greg left the business at the end of 2002, and Russell became the sole director.CSS Builders caters for contracts to the value of betweenR500 000.00 to R100 000 000.00. The business grew rapidly doing work for clients like Valpre Water, Brooklyn Mall centre management, Metrorail and Mondi, to name but a few. The business continued to expand, and diversified into the domestic housing market. On the commercial side, CSS Builders gained additional clients including Rand Merchant Bank, Southern Sun and Parmalat. They have completed specialised contracts such as restaurants, warehouses, and alterations to office blocks and meeting rooms, as well as business centres for the hotel industry.
