Trucks and spares used

Spare parts a lucrative business as all vehicles will need to be serviced at one point. Suppliers of spare parts try and keep stock of as many spare parts as they estimate a vehicle would need but some parts may be very hard to find. This is especially true for the spare trucks of trucks. Used truck spares are sometimes used during servicing if the part cannot be found. Large trucks are usually imported and hence why it is hard to find their spare trucks.

Truck distributors solicit the spare parts from old or damaged trucks. Parts like the axle are very hard and expensive to find brand new. Such parts can be refurbished and used on another truck. When trucks get damaged, the body panel of an old truck can be panel beaten and used to replace doors and trunks. After the parts are sanded down and painted, one can hardly see that the truck body is from various other old trucks. This technique is also used for other smaller vehicles which may be damaged but still have a good running battery.

Tyre manufacturers recommend that tyres be bought brand new. However, spare tyres can be bought second hand for trucks. Used spares for trucks are usually in very good condition and so even tyres can be reused. Engines can also be refurbished and reused.
