Textile printers

Textile printing involves adding different colours to materials. Textile printing allows the fabric to be printed in various designs and interesting patterns. Most fabric manufacturers will typically blend the colour with the fibre to ensure that the fabric becomes resistant to constant washing and wear and tear effects.

There are many clothing manufacturers who distribute their fabrics or ready-made clothes to retailers, fashion companies or even export companies in and around Africa. The clothing industry has greatly evolved as it now accommodates the online buying trend. It is no longer a requirement for customers to physically see the garment before they purchase it. T-shirt printers and clothing manufacturers supply these online retailers with custom made t-shirts that are hip and current.

The textile industry has at least seven commonly used procedures to produce coloured designs on a piece of cloth. These designs include -  screen printing, engraved copperplate printing, perrotine printing, stencil printing, digital textile printing, hand block printing, roller printing, cylinder printing, or machine printing.

The digital age has welcomed revolutionary ways of textile printing that were not possible a century ago. Digital textile printing is most commonly divided into four main areas in the South African fabric market. These are namely; interior decoration, the fashion industry, visual communication and direct to garment.
