T Shirts

The T shirt is a fabric shirt in a style that depicts the T shape of the body. This particular shirt is less formal than a traditional shirt and is generally made from cotton fibres.

It is designed mostly as a short sleeve shirt without a collar. The T shirt is commonly known as a crew-neck shirt signifying the round neck of this garment. However, V-neck T shirts have also become a popular fashion choice. This is because the neckline of the shirt can be hidden when an outer shirt is worn over it. T-shirt’s are usually worn till the waist. However, at one period of its history, this shirt was worn up to the mid-torso as a fashion statement.

The T shirt was first made popular in the 1950’s. It has also become more popular as weekend apparel and is especially common amongst teenagers. With huge demand for this type of shirt, manufacturing has now become automated. These shirts can be found in printed format. Many companies have chosen to place their designer logos on the shirts so as to increase brand awareness.

The modern T shirt is also used as a stand against, or for certain causes. Protest art messages on the T shirt began to show itself in the mid-2000s. Lately, this shirt has become a medium for self-expression. It is now showing signs of artistic word-play and abstract art. Even photographs are being featured on the modern T-shirt.
