Printing Consultants

A print consultant reviews and understands the needs of the client and looks for ways to maximise the effectiveness of their printed products. They offer basic training on printing and knowledge on how printing is profitable. They provide details on best practise in all aspects of production.

People starting a printing business off the ground or an individual with basic printing knowledge longing to pursue a career in printing may engage in printing training provided by consultants. This will enrich their skills in printing and be a specialist in the printing industry. Part of training includes desktop publishing, machine printing and binding. To work for a printing press company one has to have the necessary qualifications to produce a well printed document. The operator should be able to do ink flows, feed the paper to the machine and organise files to be printed. In cases of  printing machines jamming, the operator should be able to troubleshoot and continue from where the machine stopped. If the operator fails, printing consultants can be called in to attend to the fault. When there is a breakdown of a machine, the operator should be able to fix a minor problem while following safety rules and instructions.

In printing houses or companies operators stand for long hours. They must be able to work under a lot of pressure adjusting controls and spotting any errors. The operator should use the expertise acquired during training to practise both traditional and digital methods of printing. To find out more about printing consultants, browse our Yellow Pages listings.
