Oils – fuel

Oil used for fuel takes shape in a liquid petroleum form that is used for generating power or heat. It is commonly used as crude petroleum in coal substations. There are generally four types 4 types of oil. The first type is the very light oil or light distillates. Jet fuels and gasoline are examples of this light oil. They are highly volatile and contain high volumes of soluble compounds making them very hard to dispose as they are extremely toxic and can negatively impact the environment’s natural resources.

Oil companies also supply light oil or middle distillates, such as diesel, number two fuel oil and light crudes. Diesel is barely volatile despite the fact that it leaves a slight residue behind after use.

Petroleum products are very popular in South Africa including crude oil. About one-third of it evaporates within 24 hours and contaminates intertidal areas which can be severe in the long-term. Luckily the clean-up is very effective if conducted quickly. Lubrication engineers know everything there is to know about fuels and will give their clients sound advice. They can also advise you on intermediate and heavy marine oils such as heavy crude oils, which are slow to evaporate and are toxic. This type of oil is not only lethal to sea creatures when water is contaminated but it also brings about long term contamination of soil and water. All these fuels can be found in oil companies and in fuel garages. To find an oil company in your area, view our Yellowpages online.
