Mushrooms are the fruity part of a fungus and are cultivated all over the world and used in many cuisines. Mushrooms have become a staple in our diets and are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. They are low calorie food that can be eaten cooked, raw or as a garnish to a meal. When it comes to choosing mushrooms always look for ones that are firm unblemished and have a tight underside.
