Loaders

Loaders are used in construction to move aside or load materials such as asphalt, demolition debris, dirt , snow, gravel, raw materials, rock and sand just to mention a few. Loaders are also commonly used to move stock piled material from ground level and deposit it into a waiting dump truck or into an open trench excavation.

The loader assembly may be a removable attachment or permanently mounted. The bucker of the loader is often removed and replaced with other devices or tools. A hydraulically opening bucket can allow loaders to act as light dozers or scraper. The bucket can also be augmented with devices like a bale grappler for handling large bales of hay or straw. Loaders are not the most efficient machine for digging as they cannot dig very deep below the level of its wheels like a tractor loader backhoe (TLB).

TLB loaders are made up of three pieces of construction machinery. A tractor, backhoe and loader all combine to make a single unit. Each part of the machinery is situated to perform a particular task. On most construction sites the TLB backhoe operator usually uses all three components to get the work done properly.  The backhoe is the main tool of the TLB. It is used to dig up hard, compact material such as earth or to lift heavy loads such as a sewer box. To find out more about loaders, browse our Yellow Pages listings.
