Injection moulding

Injection moulding is the process whereby items are manufactured by injecting a material into a mould where it sets and then the items shape is formed. Examples of materials used in injection moulding are metal, plastic and glass. Injection moulding is done by using the material mentioned in a melted liquid state which hardens when cooling is taking place. Injection moulding is a rather complex process as all the processes have to be done at a specified temperature otherwise the mould will not come out as required.

Injection moulding is often used to make vehicle parts such as the engine or cylinders and is used in the production of vehicle parts because the quality of the parts it produced has not be contested by any method. It is also one of the cheapest parts production methods.  Engineers that design the injection  moulding equipment are highly trained. They usually design each injection moulded according to the customer's specifications. Although customised jobs can be expensive,  they are popular amongst vehicle  parts producers.

The coming of the new century has resulted in more advanced, automated and faster injection moulding machinery and equipment. Jobs that would have taken months to produce now take weeks or days to produce. Injection moulding machinery is usually powered by electricity. When there is a power outage, injection moulding machinery can be operated which slows down production of parts.
