Fishing – deep sea

Deep sea fishing relates to fishing activities where anglers aim to catch fish which are 30m or deeper. Deep sea fishing requires different methods and equipment to other types of fishing such as shoreline fishing. Deep sea fishing may be done by private individuals who are looking to find certain kinds of fish. Deep sea fishing is also the method that is usually done for commercial purposes as many of the species we consume can only be found using deep sea fishing, especially in large numbers.

Deep sea fishing requires different permits to shoreline fishing. Shoreline fishing refers to fishing where one is either right on the shore or is at lease standing on the bed of the body of water in order to catch fishing. Once a person is on a boat and attempting deep sea fishing they require a different kind of permit even if the fishing is taking place on the same body of water.

There are a number of safety methods that one should use when preparing to go deep sea fishing. First aid kits, clean water and sunscreen are all advisable if one prepares to go deep sea fishing. If one is going to get into the water for their deep sea fishing activities, diving equipment is a must. Deep sea fishing may also be done using trawl nets instead of physically going into the water.
