Fire Safety Training

Fire safety training would include preparation on how to evacuate yourself, your loved ones, and your colleagues from a burning building. This training should also contain methods on how to combat a fire using an extinguisher, how to treat someone suffering from smoke inhalation, and how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
 
While the general alarm from a fire can cause panic, there are things a company or household can do to minimise the risks associated with this anxiety. Most companies will have published an evacuation route in key areas of the building. Many organisations also appoint fire marshals to help co-ordinate the safe evacuation of the people in the building. Fire safety training programs educate fire marshals and staff on what to do in case of such an emergency.
 
Although fire alarms, smoke detectors, and sprinkler systems are put in place to minimise loss of life and property, it is the training one receives which actually makes a difference in saving lives. Most companies that provide such training would come out to the office or home. There are other more advanced training courses that one could attend lasting between 2 to 5 days, depending on the level of training one requires.
 
Most fire safety training courses would also provide material like swabs, medications, ointments and other first aid items to those being trained. One of the first fire safety training lessons one would receive is on how to prevent a fire in the first place.
