Electronic Equipment and Components

The transformation of electronic equipment is largely owed to the development of technology. Electronic equipment uses electricity as its power to operate, though batteries and other electromechanical components are used as source of power. Electronic equipment consists of an enclosure of a variety of electrical components.

Electronic components are divided into two categories namely passive and active. These components are soldered to a circuit board of a device to create an electronic circuit. Common electronic components include resistors, diodes and inductors. Before any electronic device is declared fit for use, electronics technicians evaluate it, its components and power supply to ensure the user's safety. Due to uneven electricity distribution electronic devices may breakdown, for example a fuse may burn or other electronic components may detach from the circuit board. Upon such occurrences a qualified person with a full understanding of electrical components may fix the broken part or remove and replace it.

Electrical equipment and components need to be regularly serviced so as to last long and to always have the assurance that it is in good condition. Also, the servicing of electronic equipment helps avoid dangers that may be triggered by poor maintenance of the appliances. They require extra caution and it is advisable not to use these appliances with wet hands and on bare feet. Electronic equipment comes with a user manual to help the user set up and operate it.
