Dynamic Balancing

The frequent use of heavy machinery in the everyday manufacturing process emits loud noises and accelerates the damages of the wear and tear in the rotating parts of machinery. Dynamic balancing eliminates this process by ensuring that machinery is correctly balanced.

Dynamic Balancing is the removal or addition of weight to the unit such that the effective mass centre line of the two rotating machinery parts approaches the axis. Many books have been written about this complex subject and serves to outline the balancing of rotating components.Furthermore, dynamic balancing reduces the out of balance forces that cause vibration in the rotating parts of the machinery. It relies on the effect of centrifugal forces to lessen the effects of damage in heavy duty machinery. In heavy industrial machines the vibrations are the main cause of machine seizure or failure.

To overcome this problem the “multi plane “or dynamic balance must be performed. In this case the balancing machine will have both sets of rotating parts connected to sensors. The imbalance at the two planes will be independently identified and the imbalance will be corrected.
