Distillers

A lot has changed since the 1960’s when the majority of our private distillers were unilaterally declared illegal. Today, alongside our imported international brands, there is a growing band of craft and artisanal distillers responding to the need for unique specialist spirits. It is these local distillers that have put South African brandy, whiskeys, beers and wines on the map. South African brandy is acknowledged to be the worlds finest all thanks to the comprehensive legislation and a proud tradition that ensures our brandy is of the highest quality. We have been celebrating the title of, Worldwide Best Brandy for 6 consecutive years, which was awarded to us at the International Wine & Spirits competition. Proving that South Africa makes some of the best whiskies in the world, Three Ships Premium Select 5 Year Old has won a number of awards including; The Gold and Best in Class at the 2013 International Spirits Challenge held in London, as well as The World's Best Blended Whisky at the 2012 World Whisky Awards. Many local beers have won international awards, and are continuing to do so. Malt beer is a well-entrenched beverage in the South African market, and arguably holds the largest volume share. Not forgetting our wine, South African wine has a history dating back to 1659 when Cape Town's Constantia vineyard was established. Today it is considered to be one of the greatest vineyards in the world. There are also plenty of local distillers who produce lightly sparkling and flavoured alcoholic beverage like ciders and coolers.

Whichever your preference, within the Yellow Pages directory you will find a list of South African distillers, along with their business locations, contact details and website addresses. Searching the Yellow Pages online business directory is a surefire way to find specialised, hand-crafted, artisan-style spirits, wines and beers from various South African distillers.
