Diamonds – industrial

Industrial diamonds are those that are used for a variety of industrial processes. These industrial diamonds have the properties of diamonds such as being the hardest of the natural substances as well as having the highest melting points. The diamonds that are eventually used as industrial diamonds are those that have flaws that do not qualify them to be used as gemstones. Industrial diamonds may have flaws in shape, colour and size that will ensure that they are used for industrial purposes.

Industrial diamonds are used for a variety of processes in the industries of construction and different woodwork processes. The processing of engineering ceramics, carbide tools, certain auto spare parts and a variety of IT processes require the use of industrial diamonds. Processing of a variety of home appliances also requires the use of industrial diamonds. This shows that although these are faulty diamonds, industrial diamonds are very important to many industries and a great deal of machinery that people use in their day to day lives.

Industrial diamonds are used in a variety of tools. These include diamond saws including concave blades, crack chasers and tuck pointers. Industrial diamonds are also used for diamond pastes for the polishing of materials such as metal blades and diamonds. Industrial diamonds are used in Polycrystalline diamond compacts, electroplated tools, tipped grinding cups as well as polishing cups amongst others.
