Creches

Yellow Pages has an extensive database of creches and pre-schools in your area. Find the best creche for your little ones right here.

There is nothing more important than ensuring your precious children are well taken care of when you can’t be there for them. We are only human and cannot tend to them 24/7, many of us also have to work, so enlisting in the services and care of a creche, pre-school or day care centre is a route many parents have to take. But how can you find the right creche for your children? It’s tricky and requires some time and dedication, but it’s best to put in those hours to really be sure of the place you’re sending your kids.

How To Choose The Right Creche For Your Child

We’ve put together a few points that you should consider when searching for a creche for your child.
  • Most importantly, it’s all about first impressions. If you got a bad feeling when you walked in through the door of the creche, turn around and walk away. We never put enough stock in our instincts, and as parents, when it comes to our kids, our senses are sharpened. We are there to protect them, and if a childcare centre makes you feel uncomfortable, then that feeling is trying to tell you something.
  • If you walk into a creche and it feels like a warm and homely environment, you’re off to a good start!
  • Now start investigating further. Do they feed your children while they’re at school? If so, what are they feeding them? Make sure they are giving your child balanced meals that are full of goodness, vitamins and minerals.
  • How often do they change nappies or help your child go to the toilet? Some creches and child care centres have restrictions on how often kids can go to the toilet, which is inhumane.
  • Are there enough caregivers for the number of children at the school?
  • Is the play area stimulating? Will your child be gaining benefit from being in this space? If you can’t be there all day to help your child grow and evolve, then you need to rely on a place that will do that for you in your absence.
