CARBON BRUSHES

Carbon brushes are electromechanical conducting devices that are connected to moving parts to provide an electric current. They are maintained in a permanent contact position with the slip ring assembly or with the commutator by use of brush-holders. They are commonly used in many applications which include automotive motors, generators, alternators as well as other household and industrial applications. They may be connected and operate from an alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) power source.

Automotive carbon brushes are common in most passenger vehicle motors, starters and alternators as well as motorcycles and trucks. There are smaller carbon brushes specially designed for use in steering wheels and contact airbags. Household appliances that use carbon brushes include power tools, gardening equipment, and other appliances that use DC and AC.

Industrial carbon brushes are used on large machines, in which the current between the rotor and external circuit is periodically reversed. They are also used to power battery-driven cars as well as construction vehicles such as forklift trucks and cranes.  They are commonly used in most machines such as traction motors, turbo generators, windmills, hydro power stations and steel mills. Industrial brushes are specifically designed to survive extreme temperatures.

Clients who need carbon brushes can contact carbon brush manufacturers found in Yellow pages. They offer a wide range of carbon and composite grade brushes designed to dramatically reduce dusting, minimize maintenance time, and maximize brush and commutator life. They also offer carbon brushes repairing services to clients.  Their prices are reasonable and all their products are guaranteed to exchange within the stated time period.
