Clinical aromatherapy

Going to the clinic is not something that many people enjoy. The reason range from the apprehension of seeing a doctor and other ill people to the smell of the hospital or clinic. The distinct smell of a clinic or hospital comes from the chemicals that are used to disinfect the premises. However, some medical professionals have found that the sense of smell is very important in healing and so have introduced the concept of clinical aromatherapy. Certain smells trigger emotions as well as healing. People can associate certain aromas with happy or sad thoughts.

Clinical aromatherapy can also be done at home. This is through scented candles, fragranced bubble bath and shower gels. Even burning or diffusing pure forms of essential oils and pure  minerals in a diffuser can assist. When people have a cold, they use a firm of clinical aromatherapy when they melt some menthol or peppermint vapour or essential oil in hot water and inhale the fumes. The same can be done with other essential oils such as lavender oil. The idea is for the person to absorb the oil through the vapour and steaming.

Clinics provide public care as well as paediatric care. Certain treatments may only be limited to a few conditions. For more severe illness, it is advisable to go to a hospital. The hospital has more staff and better equipment than most clinics.
