Aluminium mantraps

A mantrap is a small room or a booth with an entry door on one wall and an exit door on another. The mantrap operates in this way i.e.one door of a mantrap cannot be unlocked and opened until the opposite door has been closed and locked.

Mantraps are usually placed in banks, big companies so that they trap anyone who enters it before they enter into these buildings or rooms. These mantraps have a set of authentication procedures at each door. The mantraps have CCTV equipment, biometric or facial access control installed in them. This allows security to verify the credentials of the person entering the building or room.If the person who is evaluated is verified, they are then allowed access. However,if the person is not authorised an alarm will be triggered and security personnel will act accordingly.

The benefits of mantraps are increased access control and elimination of unauthorised people into secure areas.Whilst, mantraps are a good security tool they have their own challenges. The security guard should check credentials with the help of the systems in place. There is no way of performing this task automatically. The other main thing to remember when a mantrap is installed is that in the event of fire or any other disaster which requires evacuation, individuals must be allowed to exit quickly.

In modern times the crime rate is significantly high and everyone is wary of their safety and security. To find more about aluminium mantraps, browse our Yellow Pages listings.
