Aerial surveys

A geometric method of collecting information using aerial photography is called an aerial survey. Surveyors practice aerial survey using aerial photography, photo mapping and remote sensors that use various electromagnetic spectrums like ultraviolet or gamma. It is done using aeroplanes or helicopters thus able to provide information on a lot of things which are not visible from the ground.

Aerial photography is used by surveyors to take photographs of the ground from an elevated position, the cameras in space can be handheld, mounted on aircraft, parachutes and kites that are operated by the surveyor using joysticks. This enables surveyors to have a clear study of the land and make informed decisions relating to constructions. Commercial photographers may be hired to work together with surveyors to take good quality pictures that are clear and can be used for advertisement purposes when there is a piece of land to be sold. Aerial photography is of good use to estate agents. It makes marketing of houses easy as it gives a better and clear view of an area. Landscapers use aerial surveying to better their understanding of the site and come up with solid ideas of modifying any features of the land. It helps them to do their research effectively and implement strategies to improve the land.

Equipment to determine different levels of altitude is used for various survey missions, to aid different flying heights. To find more about aerial surveys, browse our Yellow Pages listings.
