Shortly afterwards the German principals registered Weusthoff South Africa Pty Ltd as a subsidiary, which was bought out by management in 1986. From the onset the company focused on the importation of special steels and related products.Since its founding in 1981, the company supplied tool steels and special forgings from the Dr. Weusthoff GmbHs Reckhammer Steel Works in Germany, and has been part of most of the larger engineering projects of the last 30 years, either directly or through its local engineering and trading partners.
