Radio Accessories and Data Modems was known as Sams Radio Accessories, and is today a true purveyor of amateur radio equipment and related accessories on the Southern African continent. The company stocks a wide range of amateur and commercial grade transceivers under one roof. Their products include attendant antennas that cover most of the popular radio spectrums. This is on top of their power supplies and test instruments, as well as their great service. Radio Accessories also able to source any item not carried in stock within a short period of time. The company was started in by Sam Ford, who opened a mail-order type business in the late 1980s called Sams Ham & Radio Shack. Soon afterwards, the company set up Sams Radio Accessories, and has since acquired various agencies like Alinco, Butternut and Cushcraft, in order to establish Radio Accessories & Data Modems.
