The Health Department of Boksburg town council realized the need for an old age home in the area so together with the service organizations staff and community funds were gratefully raised and a creche which the health department bough in comet was changed into Elderweiss Old Age Home The rooms avalible in Elderweiss however were by far not capable of accommodating the amout of elderly in need of care The muncipality then donated land in Van Dyk Park to build Cosmos Home For The Aged In March 1988 the residents of Eldelweiss were proudly transferred to The Cosmos Home For The Aged Cosmos Home For The Aged is registered as an Old Age Home for 225 frail residents The Boksburg Society For The Aged strives to obtain and maintain a high standard of patient care providing a safe and secure environment in which to care for frail and dependent adults of all ages without prejudice to race colour or creed
