. In 1993 four independent software engineers formed a consulting company called Parsec which was managed by Stephan Isebeck. The following year they teamed up with Petrus Pelser and Rynier van der Watt who, in 1996, had formed FPGATEC, a hardware design consultancy called FPGATEC. They changed the names to Parsec Engineering and Parsec Design Consultants respectively. Parsec Components, managed by Petrus van Heerden, was formed later that year when it was awarded the sole distributorship of Altera components in South Africa. During the course of 1998 Ian Mackey and his company Surenet joined the group as Parsec CAD. In the same year Charl Roux and his Advanced Design & Manufacturing company joined as Parsec Manufacturing.
