Jocastro was started in 1969 by Mr. Jose de Castro. The company first started manufacturing panels and switchboards for South Wales Electric as a sub-contractor.In 1974 Jocastro was formed and started manufacturing panels, switchboards and junction boxes for Eskom.Since 1974 the company has grown from strength to strength. Between 1975 and the early 1990s, Jocastro became the biggest manufacturer of Phase 1 relay panels in South Africa with Eskom being the main client.During the 1980s Jocastro repeatedly won the Eskom National Contract for junction boxes, relay panels and AC boards, on a competitive basis and in effect became the sole supplier of these items to Eskom for a number of years. The company has two office locations the Cape Town Head Office in Atlantis Industrial, Western Cape and the Sales Office in Alphen Park, Benoni, Johannesburg.
