Jakob Phillipus de Bruyn, also known as Boetie to his customers and friends, founded Southern Diesel Services cc in 1989. When the company was found, he had 25 years experience in the field of engine and gearbox rebuilding in various applications including steam and diesel locomotives. His son Jacques joined him in 1992, who is currently the owner of the company. Since the company was found, it grew to be respected throughout the field and also built up a good clientele who can proof this.The company is currently based in Stikland, Cape Town, South Africa. The modern 900 square meter premises is equipped with a dynamometer. It is centrally situated and is only 25 minutes drive from Cape Town harbor.
