Inspired by her love for animals, most notably her own Scottish terrier children, Anouk and Pantouf, Sr. Valdette Müller founded Shinga in 2008.After qualifying as a veterinary nurse at the University of Pretoria, Valdette practiced veterinary nursing for two years. Her passion for animal well-being then led to her spending four successful years in the veterinary industry as sales representative, focusing on pet nutrition and veterinary instrumentation.During this time, Valdette extensively researched the importance of interactive play for pets and environmental enrichment and found that:* Bored pets learn bad behaviours which can turn into destructive habits.* Providing positive energy outlets will eliminate the pets need to act out.
