In August 1987 brothers, Aggie, Anton and Chris Argyrou formed Warrior Paints and Coatings (Proprietary) Limited. Warrior Paints commenced trading at the companys first plant in Rosslyn, North of Pretoria, South Africa. In 1989 Artemi Petrou joined the company as a shareholder.1991 was special in Warrior Paints history, as its company owned pilot retail paint store was opened in Arcadia, Pretoria. This flagship store was later relocated to Gezina, Pretoria. Warrior Paints Gezina proved to be an immediate success and as a result Warrior Paints decided to expand the retail division by opening more stores.As a result of the success of the first DIY store, Warrior Paints decided to open more retail Warrior Paints and DIY Stores to market the Warrior Paints .
