The Services SETA established regional offices with the aim of de-centralising its activities, as a platform for our member companies to easily access and participate in skill development initiatives and enable them to engage with us on a one-on-one basis regarding their respective industries.Regional offices are the implementation vehicles, which ensure that the Services SETA reaches its goals and targets as set out in the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS).The Services Sector Education and Training Authority (SSETA) was established and registered in March 2000 in terms of the skills development Act of 1998 and is responsible for the disbursement of the training levies payable by all employers. These levies are collected by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) via the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), and are to be disbursed through a management system motivated by skills requirement assessment and monitoring.
