More than ten years ago, I had a dream of owning our own guesthouse, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer and miraculously healed by God. When Barend my husband retired, we were looking for a suitable place on the coastline. We started in Jeffreys Bay and moved down the coast, ending up in Langebaan. After inspecting 85 houses we found this jewel now Makarios B&B next to the golf course. The main building was only 60% finished at the time we made an offer to the builder. On June 26th 2004 we relocated from our primary residence in Bloemfontein In May of the following year, Barend started with the building of the guest house. We welcomed our first guests for the season in December that same year Both of us love the people and the guests who have enriched our lives tremendously over the years. We are truly blessed and to God be all the glory for His grace. The name of our establishment means To Be Blessed and we believe that our blessing is shared by every one that enters our premises
