Mulbarton Remedial School is a small school situated in Mulbarton, Johannesburg, started at the request of parents who required a school that met their childrens needs. There are very few remedial schools, especially in the South of Johannesburg, so we are meeting a major need in our community. We provide a caring and educationally sound environment through remedial teaching for the child who does not cope in the mainstream classroom. Staff, parents and the child work together as a team. The staff are highly qualified experienced and dedicated teachers, assisted by three teachers assistants, and one secretary/bursar. Classes start from Grade 0 through to Grade 7, with two Bridging Classes. Classes are small so that individual attention can be given to children to build their self-confidence. Remediation is an on-going part of the programme, with individualised programmes where necessary. We follow the National Curriculum geared to each childs specific needs.
