The Receiver of Revenue is an informal term for the South African revenue service as a whole. When it is time to submit our tax returns to the receiver of revenue and ultimately to find out whether SARS will be paying us a refund, or whether we need to pay money over to SARS. A tax year begins on 1 March and runs until 28 February of the following year.
