An image is an artefact that depicts visual perception. Just like a photograph, an image may be two dimensional and sometimes found in three dimensions. Nowadays, documents are presented in form of images. There number of ways of producing images, some they draw them yet some get them produced digitally. Artistic people are able to draw images of a variety of things.

The most common types of images are the digital ones. These types of images are created by using a camera or similar devices and the images come in form of photographs, photographic film or printed paper. Digital images have proved their worth in a number of different fields and are used in possibly every industry from education to medicine. In medicine, images are used to represent body organs in a photograph for the purposes of clinical analysis as well as study purposes. Internal structures are revealed through images which make it easy for them to be studied, treated and diagnose. In geophysical, there are a number of different types of imaging techniques that are used. Some of these include ground penetration radar, magnetotellurics, induced polarization as well as seismic tomography. Images in geophysics are made to map the extent of the quantities in the subsurface.
